REGULAR MEETING November 27, 2017 <br /> Randy Kelly,3 District Councilmember, 1325 E.Wayne Street,stated,$11 million worth of work <br /> is remarkable but I don't think it begins to speak to the level of the amount of goodwill you have <br /> brought to our community through your work. Thank you so much and congratulations. <br /> Councilmember Regina Williams-Preston stated, This is the kind of thing that is really near and <br /> dear to my heart. There is really nothing more important. We talk about Maslow's hierarchy and <br /> shelter is right there. The whole concept of what this organization has brought to this community <br /> is really what makes a community great. I'm honored to bring this resolution to the Council tonight <br /> and thank you for your service. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis stated, It is truly an honor to be one (1)of the sponsors. You help us <br /> bring Christmas all year around. As a person who is about to be Santa in a few more weeks in our <br /> schools, I say thank you. <br /> Councilmember Karen White stated, I would not only like to say thank you to the Council but to <br /> the four (4) individuals we are honoring today. I also know there are thousands of individuals <br /> behind the work that you have done. I really love the title because it speaks to what we, as a <br /> community, are looking for. <br /> Council President Tim Scott stated, I would like to apologize, I introduced this as Habitat for <br /> Humanity. However, I do appreciate everything you all do. <br /> Council President Tim Scott then opened the floor to members of the public wishing to speak in <br /> favor of or in opposition to the legislation. There were none. He then turned the floor back to the <br /> Council for further comment or main motion. Councilmember John Voorde made a motion to <br /> adopt Bill No. 19-17 by acclamation.
