ROPER <br />`Lhe Board is paying for the cost of the pavement and <br />sidewalk on, this tight -of -way., out of funds in the general <br />.treasury -- <br />_ <br />MR. MILLER.:. ROPER: It proposes not to re .rburse itself, but to assess <br />adjoining land owners and collect from the adjoining .land owner <br />a sum merely representing the benefits to the land by reason <br />of the city having put in place a completed street.. <br />And the appraisers have been sent out to determine the <br />amount of the benefits without any relation to the cost of the <br />improvement whatsoever. MILLER: I am trying to get at the issue. Maybe we will <br />have to eliminate one thing at a time.
