She stated, The problem is that I don't want us to put form over function. All the beautification in town is incredible, I love it, but when we have this much of an infrastructure problem, and especially something that is a flaw in the infrastructure, I don't feel it's right for residents to have to pay fortunes of money to fix that kind of a problem. I need your help. Thank you. Sharon Banicki, 3822 Ford Street, South Bend, IN, stated, A couple months ago, I was here and implored the Council to go home,take your Council salary, crunch the numbers and see if you can live on it. It was after one (1) of the rate increases that everybody says was only a dollar($1), it's only two dollars ($2). I don't know how many of you have done.it, but I can look at this Council and wonder how many of you have a household income of less than $100,000. How many have less than a$50,000 household income? You guys make more than a person working full-time, making $8.50 an hour,to be on the Council. Ms. Banicki insisted that the Council does not understand how much bigger of a deal it is for most City residents than it is for Councilmembers that utility rates have gone up by one dollar($1) or two dollars ($2). She urged the Council to consider this when budget time comes around. Rod Goodchild, 837 South 24 h Street, South Bend, IN, stated that he needed help removing a fifty (50) foot tree from his property. i I ADJOURNMENT There being no further business to come before the Council,President Tim Scott adjourned the meeting at 10:40 p.m. 27
