2016 Annual Report— Department of Code Enforcement 25 <br /> SBACC looks forward to increasing our fundraising efforts to attain our Mission Statement <br /> goal of adding a "catio" (cat patio)to the facility as well as building a It will be the mission of South Bend <br /> dog park across from the shelter in 2017. Our hope is to attract more Animal Care and Control to: promote <br /> residents to our area and start changing the perception of SBACC from and enforce the humane treatment of <br /> being viewed simply as a "shelter"to an "animal-based community animals; protect the public and its <br /> center". These physical improvements, combined with our community property by enforcing the City's animal- <br /> outreach programs, will help us serve our community in a much more related laws; educate and encourage <br /> proactive way. responsible pet ownership; educate the <br /> public on its rights and responsibilities <br /> SBACC has also added staff that will also allow us to increase animal regarding animals. <br /> welfare enforcement. Our goal is to strategically focus on problems in <br /> our community with regard to backyard breeders, hoarders, Vision Statement <br /> abandonments, and dogfighting. Enforcement will include education as To enhance the lives of the residents of <br /> well as holding animal owners accountable for the welfare of their South Bend by using shelter animals in <br /> animals. community outreach programs while <br /> instilling the idea of being an Animal- <br /> 2017 will be a big year for SBACC and I am looking forward to bringing Based Community Center. A Center that <br /> our shelter to the next level of animal welfare and community will serve the needs of our animals and <br /> involvement.
