Adjournment <br /> Council President Tim Scott called the meeting to order. <br /> Council President Scott announced, regarding the Appeal of a Certificate of Appropriateness for <br /> 1240 W. Thomas Street—Eric Boyd vs. Historic Preservation Commission,that there cannot be <br /> any additional continuations of the appeal. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis made a motion to continue the Appeal of a Certificate of <br /> Appropriateness for 1240 W. Thomas Street—Eric Boyd vs. Historic Preservation Commission <br /> until February 27th, 2017. Councilmember Regina Williams-Preston seconded the motion which <br /> carried by a voice vote of seven(7) ayes. <br /> Council President Scott informed the Council that a contract with Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand <br /> was being drawn up, with which she could offer counsel regarding the selection of an applicant <br /> to the post of Council Attorney as well as aid in the transition of the new-hire. <br /> Councilmember Dr. David Varner made a motion to consider a contract with former Council <br /> Attorney Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand to ease in the transition to a Council Attorney to-be-hired <br /> in the future.
