Caldwell, Member <br />REQUEST TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY - PARK AVENUE NEIGHBORHOOD <br />ASSOCIATION - 400 BLOCK OF MANITOU PLACE - OCTOBER 29 1994 <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of a request to conduct a Neighborhood block <br />party on Sunday, October 29, 1994, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request was referred to the appropriate <br />Bureaus for recommendations. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE A PORTION OF OLD <br />CLEVELAND ROAD <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that Mrs. Jenny Pitts Manier, Assistant City Attorney, has submitted to <br />the Board a Vacation Petition to vacate a portion of Old Cleveland Road: <br />West Old Cleveland Road from the West right-of-way line of North Mayflower Road, east <br />for a distance of approximately 2,631.17 feet and a width of approximately 40 feet, to the <br />east line of Section 20, Township 38 North, Range 2 East. The portion of Old Cleveland <br />Road petitioned to be vacated is no longer needed as public right-of-way due to the <br />construction and dedication of Nimtz Parkway. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. <br />Leszczynski made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common <br />Council concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ENCROACH ONTO THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY OYSTER <br />MADISON BAR - 402 EAST MADISON <br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning the <br />encroachment onto the public right-of-way for their request to construct a "landing" on the Madison <br />Street sidewalk. Additionally, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering recommends <br />this request, subject to the Owner providing indemnification of the City as required by the Legal <br />Department. Further, Mr. Littrell recommends that a handrail or other tall object be placed on the <br />landing to draw visual attention to the "landing" on the sidewalk to avoid creating a trip hazard. <br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion to approve the request. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractors and Excavation Bonds be approved and/or released as follows: <br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />Donald Borkowski Approved, Retroactive <br />Dinette, Inc. Approved, Retroactive <br />Willie's Construction Released <br />Effective September 27, 1994 <br />Effective October 10, 1994 <br />Effective August 15, 1994 <br />
