Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the following requests were referred to the <br />appropriate City departments and bureaus for review and <br />recommendation: <br />OF FIRST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH TO CONDUCT PROCESSION - MAY <br />15, 1994 <br />Mr. Ellwood K. Smith, Senior Pastor, First United Methodist <br />Church, 333 North Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, advised, <br />that to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the dedication of <br />their church building, they request permission to repeat the <br />walk that worshippers took eighty (80) years ago as they left <br />their prior church at the corner of Jefferson and Main <br />Streets and walked north along Main Street to the present <br />location at 333 North Main Street. <br />The Walk will be held on Sunday, May.15, 1994 at 8:15 a.m. <br />At that time a group would begin by walking from 333 North <br />Main Street south along the sidewalks on the west side of <br />Main Street three and one-half blocks to the northwest corner <br />of Jefferson and Main Streets. At 8:30 a.m. they would <br />return from that corner to 333 North Main again along the <br />west side of Main Street returning to the church at <br />approximately 8:45 a.m. Mr. Smith noted that there may be a <br />few people who meet them at the corner of Jefferson and Main <br />at 8:30 a.m. rather than making the full loop. It is <br />anticipated that forty (40) individuals will participate in <br />this walk. <br />OF MADISON SCHOOL TO CLOSE PARK LANE, FROM LAFAYETTE TO MAIN <br />STREET, IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANNUAL ICE CREAM SOCIAL AT LEEPER <br />PARK - MAY 20, 1994 <br />Ms. Elizabeth D. Eldon, Event Chairman, Madison Elementary <br />School P.T.O., 832 North Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, <br />Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And <br />Blocking Of Access to Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or <br />Similar Event, requesting that Park Lane, from Lafayette to <br />Main, be closed from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 20, <br />1994, in conjunction with the annual ice cream social that <br />will be held, in part, at Leeper Park. <br />OF KELLER PARK NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION, INC. TO CLOSE <br />STREETS IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHILDREN'S CARNIVAL - MAY 21 <br />1994 <br />Ms. Judith A. Robert, Chairperson, Keller Park Neighborhood <br />Association Park Committee, 1739 Riverside Drive, South Bend, <br />Indiana, advised that the Association is sponsoring a <br />Children's Carnival to raise funds for the handicap <br />accessible play area at Keller Park, on May 21, 1994 from <br />10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. A rain date of May 28, 1994 has been <br />set. <br />In this regard, they are requesting that two (2) streets and <br />alleys be blocked off for the day and no parking signs be <br />posted on one (1) street. More specifically as follows: <br />1. Block off Cushing Street, from Beale to Keller Park. <br />2.
