017 <br />1 <br />E <br />1 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 4, 1994 <br />APPROVE 1994 NEONATAL AMBULANCE LEASE AND STAFFING AGREEMENT - <br />MEMORIAL HOSPITAL <br />Submitted to the Board for consideration was a 1994 Neonatal <br />Ambulance Lease and Staffing Agreement. This Agreement, between <br />the City and Memorial Hospital of South Bend, indicates that the <br />South Bend Fire Department will maintain the neonatal ambulances, <br />which are owned by the hospital and shall be on call for the <br />operation of the neonatal ambulances twenty-four (24) hours a day, <br />three hundred sixty five (365) days a year. Memorial Hospital <br />shall pay to the City a monthly fee of $3,806.66 in 1994, <br />$3,958.93 in 1995 and $4,117.29 in 1996. Additionally, the <br />hospital agrees to pay the Department an additional amount for <br />each transport in the second ambulance. The additional amount per <br />transport is $119.60 in 1994, $124.38 in 1995 and $129.26 in 1996. <br />It is noted that this Contract was approved and executed by the <br />Board of Public Safety at their regular meeting held on December <br />22, 1993. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this <br />Contract be approved and executed. Mrs. Manier seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CONTRACT FOR EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES - UNIVERSITY OF <br />NOTRE DAME - GENERAL MATTERS <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of a Contract <br />for Emergency Medical Services between the University of Notre <br />Dame and the South Bend Fire Department. The Contract indicates <br />that the South Bend Fire Department will provide to the University <br />emergency medical equipment and personnel for the events specified <br />by the University. The University will pay for the services as <br />follows: <br />Advanced Life Support unit staffed with two (2) St. <br />Joseph County certified paramedics: <br />$75.00 per hour per unit <br />Basic Life Support unit staffed with two (2) basic <br />E.M.T.'s: <br />$60.00 per hour <br />Paramedic supervisor to work with the University Control <br />Team (if requested): <br />$18.00 per hour <br />All transports from the specified event to St. Joseph Medical <br />Center will be billed to the patient per Ordinance No. 8269-92 <br />effective June 19, 1992. <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Contract be approved as <br />submitted. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />INC;. <br />Ms. Marcia Townsend, Department of Community and Economic <br />Development, submitted to the Board an Agreement between the City, <br />by and through the Board of Public Works on behalf of the <br />Community and Economic Development Department and Neighborhood <br />Resources and Technical Services, Inc. It was noted that this <br />Agreement awards to NRTS the sum of $8,176.00 from the Next Door <br />Neighborhood Program. Mrs. Manier made a motion that this <br />Agreement be approved. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />carried. Board member James R. Caldwell abstained from voting on <br />this Agreement as he is a member of the Neighborhood Resources and <br />Technical Services Board. <br />APPROVE CONSENT TO <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated <br />TION AND WAIVER OF RIGHT TO REMONSTRATE <br />at the Board is in receipt of a Consent <br />
