<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO DONATE PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND - 1514
<br />KENDALL STREET
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Mayor's Office,
<br />Division of Engineering, Department of Code Enforcement, Department of Economic Development,
<br />and the Park Department, in reference to a request submitted by Mr. Bruce Reid, to donate his
<br />property located at 1514 Kendall Street, South Bend, Indiana, Key Number 18-8026-1040/Lot #17,
<br />to the City of South Bend, as part of the Rum Village Partnership Center Public Works Project. Mr.
<br />Reid stated that he would like to facilitate the project by donating his lot to the City of South Bend.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request
<br />was approved, subject to title insurance commitment.
<br />PETITION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A RESIDENTIAL PARKING ZONE REFERRED
<br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the Board is in receipt of a Petition for the Establishment of a
<br />Residential Parking Zone, on Kenmore Street, from Western Avenue to Jefferson Boulevard, as
<br />submitted by Mr. Melton T. Sanders, 206 South Kenmore, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a motion
<br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Petition was forwarded to the
<br />appropriate Bureaus and Departments for their recommendation.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Douglas Way, Assistant Vice President, First Source Bank, Post Office
<br />Box 1602, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to construct a protective walkway along the
<br />south and west elevations of the First Bank Building at 205 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend,
<br />Indiana. Mr. Way stated that reconstruction of the exterior of the building requires the protective
<br />walkway in order to complete this reconstruction safely. Further, the walkways and barricades will
<br />be constructed and paid for by First Source Bank, and will be provided to insure the safety of
<br />pedestrians during the reconstruction process. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by
<br />Mrs. Manier and carried, the request was approved.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED
<br />Upon a motion made by W. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following
<br />requests were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation:
<br />- TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Kenneth S. Johnson, H&G Infotech, 225 South Lafayette Boulevard,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install a temporary fiber optic cable from the roof at
<br />225 South Lafayette Boulevard to the roof of the Trigon Building, due to a relocation of Infotech
<br />to the Trigon Building. Mr. Johnson stated that the cable is one-half ('/2) inch in diameter, and the
<br />temporary overhead cable will be removed in the spring of 1996 when a permanent underground
<br />cable is installed from H&G Services to paragon and paragon to Trigon.
<br />APPROVE TITLE SHEETS - SANITARY AND STORM SEWERS
<br />- HAMLIN COURT/LINDENWOOD EAST DRIVE
<br />- IRONGATE ESTATES
<br />- SANDPIPER COVE
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Title Sheets for the above referred to projects were being presented
<br />at this time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and
<br />carried, the above referred to Title Sheets were approved and signed.
<br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Contractors and Excavation Bonds be approved as follows:
