REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 9, 1995 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said equipment may be transferred or sold at public <br />auction or private sale, without advertising. However, if the property is deemed worthless, such <br />may be demolished or junked. <br />ADOPTED this 9th day of October, 1995 <br />ATTEST: <br />s/Angela K. Jacob, Clerk <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />s/James R. Caldwell, Member <br />s/Jenny Pitts Manier, Member <br />REQUEST REFERRED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following request <br />was referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation: <br />- TO CONDUCT RED RIBBON MARCH - UNITED COMMUNITY AGAINST DRUG AND <br />ALCOHOL ABUSE <br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Gladys Muhammad, United Community Against Drug and Alcohol <br />Abuse, 914 Lincolnway West, South Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct a community - <br />wide Red Ribbon Day march, on Friday, October 27, 1995, beginning at 10:00 a.m., on the <br />designated route as submitted. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS CORBY STREET <br />LIFT STATION - PROJECT NO 95-68 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Roberto Flores, Environmental Services, requested permission <br />to advertise for the sale of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Flores stated that this project <br />will add monitoring and telemetry to the Corby Lift Station that will communicate to the <br />Wastewater Plant. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTOR BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following <br />Contractors Bonds be approved as follows: <br />BOND OF CONTRACTOR <br />David Whitaker Approved retroactive to September 27, 1995 <br />Findley May Jr. Approved retroactive to October 2, 1995 <br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bonds be approved <br />as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF MONTHLY NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION <br />REPORT - SEPTEMBER 1995 <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of the monthly Neighborhood Business Development <br />Corporation for the month of September, 1995, as submitted by Mr. Sam Mercantini, Executive <br />Director. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the report <br />was filed as submitted. <br />APPROVE TITLE SHEET - CORBY STREET LIFT STATION - PROJECT NO. 95-68 <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Title Sheet for the above referred to project was being presented at <br />this time for execution. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the above referred to Title Sheet was approved and signed. <br />
