<br />FORWARD LICENSE APPLICATION FOR SCRAP METAL DEALER'S RECYCLING
<br />OPERATION TO CODE ENFORCEMENT AND FIRE DEPARTMENT - RECYCLERY DOMUS
<br />INC.
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from Code Enforcement
<br />and Water Works for a License Application for a scrap metal dealer's recycling operation as
<br />submitted by Recyclery Domus, Inc., 525 South Eddy Street, South Bend, Indiana. One unfavorable
<br />recommendation was presented by the South Bend Fire Department due to several fire code
<br />violations. The entire sprinkler system in the building is not up to code and more than half of the
<br />sprinkler systems are shut down. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell the
<br />Clerk was instructed to forward this information to the Fire Department and Code Enforcement for
<br />further discussion and review.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY -
<br />PATIO EXPANSION - EMPORIUM RESTAURANT
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Division of
<br />Engineering, Building Commissioner and Community and Economic Development for the expansion
<br />of a patio at the Emporium Restaurant. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Gilot
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - HUMBOLDT FROM KALEY
<br />TO MEADE - BIRTHDAY PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Sherryl Williams, 1202 Kaley, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />May 10, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by
<br />Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - NAPOLEON FROM HILL
<br />STREET TO ST. LOUIS STREET - GRADUATION BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Eneitra Beattie, 609 Napoleon, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />May 24, 2003, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr.
<br />Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - PARK LANE FROM
<br />LAFAYETTE TO MAIN STREET - MADISON SCHOOL ICE CREAM SOCIAL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Susan Goldstein, Madison School, 832 North Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above
<br />referred to event on May 16, 2003, from 4:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks,
<br />seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT RIVER PARK DAY AND RIVER
<br />PARK PARADE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Park
<br />Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Susan Miller, River Park Business Association, Post Office Box 6695, South Bend, Indiana
<br />to conduct the above referred to "River Park Day" and River Park parade, on May 31, 2003. from
<br />10:00 a.m. until 10:30 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried,
<br />the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS - SUMMER IN THE CITY
<br />FESTIVAL
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by Traffic and Lighting, Park
<br />Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Teresa McClure, South Bend Park Department, to conduct the above referred to event on
<br />June 12 through June 15, 2003, on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
