REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 14, 2009 REGULAR MEETING RECONVENED Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend reconvened in the Council Chambers on the fourth floor of the County-City Building at 8:50 p.m. President Derek D. Dieter presided with nine (9) members present. BILLS – THIRD READING ORDINANCE NO. 9952-09 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2717 SOUTH MAIN STREET, 2721 SOUTH MAIN STREET, 2729 SOUTH MAIN STREET AND 217 OAKSIDE, COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT 6, IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA This bill had third reading. Councilmember White made a motion to amend this bill as in the Committee of the Whole. Councilmember Kirsits seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. Additionally, Councilmember Varner made a motion to pass this bill as amended. Councilmember Oliver Davis seconded the motion which carried by a roll call vote of nine (9) ayes. ORDINANCE NO. 9953-09 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING ORDINANCE #9877-08 TO APPROPRIATE AN ADDITIONAL $130,000.00 AND TO READJUST AND REDUCE CERTAIN DISTRIBUTIONS FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2009 WITHIN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND (#212) This bill had third reading. Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to pass this bill. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried. The bill passed by a roll call vote of eight (8) ayes and one (1) nay (Councilmember Henry Davis.) ORDINANCE NO. 9954-09 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND APPROPRIATING $750,873 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FUND (FUND 212) FOR THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT-RECOVERY PROGRAM FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DESIGNATED SUBGRANTEE AGENCIES FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING, JUNE 5, 2009, TO BE ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT 11
