Mr. Hankerson is a two
sport athlete who excels in track and football but also holds a 2.9 grade point average which is
well above the corporation's new guidelines in South Bend's public school corporation.
"It is not only up to the families of these students to support them but it is necessary as a
community leader to give our children the positive support they deserve. We cannot be happy
with mediocrity and if we want our children to be the best we must set the standard for it," says
Councilman Henry Davis, Jr.
The South Bend Common Council will meet today at 3:30 pm for committee hearings and at
7pm for the full council meeting. All council meetings are open to the public and are held on the
4th floor of the County -City.
# ##
227 W.
