Animal Control Commission <br />Commission Members Present: <br />Citizen Members Present: <br />Council Members Present: <br />Agenda: <br />May 51h, 2015 5:30 p.m. <br />All members present <br />Matt Harmon, Todd Howard, Rosemary, Lisa and David Sexton, <br />Stephanie Steele <br />Hearing <br />Ernest calls meeting to order @ 6:30 p.m. He explains how to meeting will proceed. <br />Stephanie Steele, SBACC attorney calls Harriet Parks (sworn in), victim, to testify: <br />Harriet Parks, 1226 Thomas St., South Bend <br />- Victim: We -we, full blood Chihuahua, owned by Ms. Parks since 2012 <br />-After 10 min. of being outside, a husky came into yard and grabbed Wee Wee, ran away, and finally <br />dropped him <br />-The dog that attacked was a large husky breed <br />-The husky returned to Ms. Parks property again but did not growl, bite, or seem aggressive <br />-She has seen the Husky running at large in the past, but had never seen it attack <br />- Wee Wee cost over $600.00 <br />-Does not believe it's safe for the Husky to be in the community and is worried for the children <br />-The dog was not on a lease and is fully up to date on vaccines <br />- Ms. Parks states that she wants the husky put down <br />* SBACC Commission questions Harriet Parks on various concerns and uncertainties. <br />Stephanie Steele, SBACC attorney calls Todd Howard (sworn in) to testify as a witness: <br />Todd Howard, witness, SBACC Assistant Manager <br />- Arrived at approx. 10:00 a.m. to the scene <br />- 2 officers were already there <br />- loaded the husky into the SBACC vehicle, it did not appear aggressive <br />- could see that the Chihuahua was diseased <br />- Attempted to contact someone at 1215 Napier but no one was home <br />
