Rodriguez is the new Legislative Research Assistant for the South Bend Common Council. Adriana <br /> is a graduate of Trinity High School in South Bend and she received her BBA degree from Saint Mary's <br /> College. <br /> Council President Tim Scott stated that he was "very pleased to see that so many qualified applicants applied for <br /> the position", which he will oversee and will coordinate her assignments and projects. Scott added that"Adriana <br /> brings a wealth of experience, from working with the Senior Justice of the Supreme Court of Virginia to working <br /> closely with the wardens of a correctional institution in South Carolina". <br /> Council Member Karen L. White noted that"to have Adriana come back to her hometown of South Bend is very <br /> exciting. Adriana is another fine example of some of the young people who are choosing South Bend to be the <br /> place where they want to live and work". <br /> The Legislative Research Assistant position is part-time and was approved by the Common Council as part of the <br /> 2015 budget. <br /> The Common Council's Standard Operating Procedure governing this position notes in part that: <br /> "The professional support and assistance of all Legislative Research Assistants is aimed to further each <br /> member of the Common Council and the Council Attorney to pursue the goals and objectives of the <br /> "Mission Statement of the South Bend Common Council": <br /> "To make certain that our City Government is always responsive to the needs of our residents and that the betterment of <br /> South Bend is always our highest priority". <br />
