SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> JULY 21,2014 <br /> The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br /> Monday July 21, 2014 at the O'Brien Administration &Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter St., <br /> South Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date,time and place of the meeting <br /> were duly given as required by law. <br /> Park Board members present were as follows: <br /> Mr. Robert Goodrich, President <br /> Ms. Amy Hill, Vice President <br /> Mr. Garrett Mullins <br /> Mr. Bruce BonDurant <br /> Park Board members absent were as follows: <br /> None <br /> Staff members present: Phil St. Clair,Director of Parks; Bill Carleton,Director of Finance; <br /> Susan O'Connor, Deputy Director;Randy Nowacki,Director of Golf Operations; Mike <br /> Dyszkiewicz, Maintenance Superintendent; Mark Bradley, Marketing Director; Paula Garis, <br /> Special Events Supervisor; Paul McMinn, Assistant Recreation Director; Cheryl Greene, Park <br /> Board Attorney <br /> I. The meeting was called to order by Board President Robert Goodrich at 4:03 p.m. <br /> H. The first order of business was the interviewing of interested citizens. <br /> a. Jim Szucs, Teamster business agent,reported that a bargaining agreement has <br /> been reached with the employees of Potawatomi Zoo and the Potawatomi <br /> Zoological Society. He thanked all involved in the negotiations for their <br /> cooperation in the process. The agreement was approved by the bargaining unit <br /> and will be in affect by the beginning of August. <br /> III. Report By Organizations <br /> No representatives were present. <br /> IV. The next order of business was unfinished business. <br /> a. Update on Five Year Master Plan-Matthew Moyers and Chris Chockley <br /> Mr. Moyers gave an update on the progress of the project. He presented the raw <br /> data from the City Voice telephone information. This is a voluntary call-in system <br /> to review various parks and facilities. <br /> Mr. Chockley, of Jones Petrie and Rafinski, gave an update on the public input. <br /> Over 1,100 citizens have participated so far. <br /> A draft copy of the document will be sent to the Indiana Department of Natural <br /> Resources for review by the end of July. <br /> - - I - - <br />
