Community <br />6� a <br />Ik5 � <br />Investment <br />Memorandum <br />November 14, 2013 <br />TO: Redevelopment Commission <br />FROM: David Relos, Economic Resources <br />SUBJECT: Resolution No. 3182 & Addendum to the Master Agency Agreement <br />Blackthorn Street Light Project <br />This Resolution and Agency Agreement are to support the replacement of 84 street <br />lights along Nimtz and side streets in the Blackthorn area. These lights are based on <br />those originally installed when the Commission developed Blackthorn in 1992. <br />Because of the age of the light's design, bulbs and ballasts are no longer available. The <br />City's Director of Streets has been working on a solution to this situation, and suggests <br />we replace only the light's head with more energy efficient LED lighting, keeping the <br />poles the lights are mounted on. <br />Estimated cost per replacement head is $800. The City's Traffic & Lighting Department <br />will provide the manpower to replace and install the new lights. <br />Staff requests approval of Resolution No. 3182 and Addendum to the Master Agency <br />Agreement, in a not -to- exceed amount of $68,000, so these lights can be replaced with <br />new, energy efficient lighting. <br />227 W.
