Co13 G) <br />So�T�.B <br />Department of <br />Community <br />Memorandum <br />September 9, 2013 <br />TO: Redevelopment Commission <br />FROM: Chris Dressel, Staff 0;0 <br />Investment <br />SUBJECT: Request to Advertise Public Hearing on September 26, 2013-SBCDA Plan <br />Amendments <br />Staff requests Redevelopment Commission approval to advertise a public hearing on <br />September 26th that amends the South Bend Central Development Area (SBCDA) Plan via a <br />confirming resolution. <br />This request follows the commission's approval of a declaratory resolution on August 15; <br />approval by the Area Plan Commission of St. Joseph County on August 20; and anticipated <br />approval by the South Bend Common Council approval on September 9. <br />As a reminder, the primary purpose of these text amendments is to emphasize importance <br />of adding and expanding the range of downtown housing unit types within the SBCDA, <br />particularly those that encourage the provision of affordable housing and live -work space for <br />a rt ists. <br />227 W.
