SOUTH 6R <br />r <br />Department of <br />Community Investment <br />1866 <br />Memorandum <br />June 26, 2013 <br />To: Redevelopment Commission <br />FROM: David Relos, Economic Resources <br />SUBJECT: Resolution No. 3144 — Appointment of Dennis Weaver to the Development <br />Design Review Committee <br />The Development Design Review Committee is composed of nine members, five <br />appointed by the Redevelopment Commission and four by virtue of their position (City <br />Engineer, City Building Commissioner, Director of the St. Joseph County Area Plan <br />Commission, and the Director of the Division of Redevelopment). <br />There are three Development Design Areas, which are: South Bend Central, <br />Studebaker Corridor, and the Airport Economic Development Area. The boundaries of <br />the Design Review Areas are the same as the Development Areas as established by <br />the Redevelopment Commission. <br />These areas have design guidelines established by the Commission. Any exterior <br />improvements in these areas need to conform to those guidelines. If improvements are <br />proposed which are not consistent with the guidelines, they are referred to the Review <br />Committee, which can waive the guideline requirements if appropriate. <br />Staff requests approval of Resolution No. 3144, to allow the appointment of Dennis <br />Weaver, who works for Arkos Design and previously The Troyer Group, and will bring <br />needed expertise in the area of construction cost estimation to the Development Design <br />Review Committee. <br />227 W.
