SOUTH gg
ps qAi Qi;. 'Lp
F %, : Department of
Community Investment
1665
Memorandum
June 26, 2013
To: Redevelopment Commission
FROM: David Relos, Economic Resources
SUBJECT: Oliver Plow Industrial Park landscaping
In 2010 the Commission approved improvements to the Oliver Plow Industrial Park,
including a pedestrian trail system from the west side of the Park (Arnold St.) to the east
side (Chapin St.); entry signage and landscaping; decorative lighting; and the
development of the Oliver Plow Memorial Park, featuring a 110% life -size bronze statue
of James Oliver standing next to an Oliver Chilled Plow.
As part of the ongoing Park's operations, plans are being drafted that would form an
owner's association, similar in nature to Blackthorn, whereby owners in the park would
pay an annual amount to maintain the Memorial and entry signage and landscaping.
In the interim, the landscaping and irrigation system are in need of repair. Because of a
tour of the Memorial this week, Jay Harwood, the owner of Rose Brick, paid to have
these two items completed.
Fuerbringer Landscaping, who installed the original landscaping, agreed to weed,
mulch, and trim the beds in the amount of $4,905. Mr. Harwood has paid this bill, so the
Park's entrance and Memorial were presentable for the tour.
Staff requests approval to reimburse Mr. Harwood in the amount of $4,905, and thanks
him for his concern in the appearance of the Park.
227 W.
