Canneth Lee <br /> President, South Bend Common Council <br /> 3`d Floor—South Bend City Hall <br /> South Bend, IN 46601 <br /> Re: Resolution Requesting Approval for the Purchase of 1829 Randolph Street <br /> Dear President Lee: <br /> Attached is a resolution for consideration by the South Bend Common Council ("Council") <br /> requesting authorization from Council for the Board of Public Works to pursue the acquisition of <br /> three(3)parcels of land, more commonly referred to as 1829 Randolph Street, South Bend, <br /> Indiana("Property"). The Board of Works intends to follow the statutory framework set forth <br /> under IC 36-1-10.5-5 to purchase the Property. <br /> The purpose of this purchase is to facilitate the upcoming CSO storage tank construction project. <br /> This infrastructure improvement is necessitated by the City of South Bend's consent decree with <br /> the federal government. The acquisition of the Property has the likely impact of reducing the <br /> overall cost of the construction project while minimizing the disruption to the residents of the <br /> neighborhood. <br /> I will present the resolution to Council at its upcoming meeting.
