6 a CI) <br />a��T$ <br />Department of <br />IU <br />Community <br />Memorandum <br />Friday, May 3, 2013 <br />TO: Redevelopment Commission <br />FROM: Michael Divita, Planner <br />Investment <br />SUBJECT: Fellows Street Design & Right -of -Way Acquisition Services <br />Attached to this memorandum are documents relating to design, coordination, and right -of -way <br />acquisition services for the proposed Fellows Street improvements. Resolution 3139 and <br />Amendment to the Addendum to the Master Agency Agreement (Fellows Street Corridor <br />Improvement Project - Supplement #6) authorize the Board of Public Works to act as the <br />Commission's agent, and they set a total budget of $46,300 for two consultants to complete <br />roadway design and for tasks that transition the project from the design phase to the <br />implementation phase. <br />The first attachment to the addendum is a copy of a proposed $28,300 amendment to the existing <br />agreement with Christopher B. Burke Engineering. This amendment includes the following tasks: <br />• Completion of sidewalk and stormwater management design per the direction provided by <br />the City's Department of Public Works, <br />Design of a traffic signal loop system for the north leg of the Fellows & Ireland intersection to <br />coordinate with INDOT's improvements to the southern approach to the intersection, and <br />• Coordination with stormwater management consultant Cardno JFNew on bidding documents <br />and with right -of -way acquisition consultant DLZ on property acquisition. <br />The second attachment is a copy of a proposed $18,000 supplement to the existing right -of -way <br />acquisition services agreement with DLZ. To facilitate the right -of -way acquisition process previously <br />approved by the Commission, DLZ will complete right -of -way engineering (legal descriptions, plats, <br />boundary surveys) and right -of -way staking. <br />Staff requests approval of Resolution 3139 and Amendment to the Addendum to the Master Agency <br />Agreement (Fellows Street Corridor Improvement Project - Supplement #6), including the $46,300 <br />budget. <br />227 W.
