� t4 (yj <br />SOUTH@@ <br />\� %o Department of <br />Community Investment <br />1365 <br />Memorandum <br />April 25, 2013 <br />TO: South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />FROM: David Relos, Economic Resources Associate <br />SUBJECT: Professional Service Proposal - The Troyer Group <br />Memorial Hospital Area Fagade Improvements Amendment <br />On May 31, 2012, the Commission approved a professional service agreement with The Troyer <br />Group for the Spec documentation, bidding, and construction administration for the removal and <br />replacement of new windows on the south and west sides of the Skyway Building, which is attached <br />to Memorial Hospital via the Skyway Bridge. This agreement was for a not -to- exceed amount of <br />$7,000 (proposal range was $5,000 - $7,000 with reimbursables). <br />When the proposal was submitted by Troyer, it was thought the windows project would coincide with <br />the Skyway Bridge project. Because of delays in being able to start the windows project (occupancy <br />of certain floors, weather, etc.), the two projects will not be running concurrently. <br />Because of this, we are in need of increasing the original Troyer agreement. The amount of this <br />increase is $10,000, taking the total to a not -to- exceed of $17,000. <br />Construction cost for the windows project is $302,100, making this new agreement amount 5.6 %, <br />which is below the industry standard of 10 %. <br />Staff requests approval of this amended professional service proposal in the not -to- exceed amount <br />of $17,000. <br />227 W.
