We deliver services that empower everyone to thrive!! <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION OF ENGINEERING <br />TO: Board of Public Works Members <br />FROM: Chana Roschyk, Project Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Request – Reject Bids and Re-Advertise <br />124-008 Leeper Ave Bridge Repairs Concrete Decking; PR- 00033344 <br />DATE: July 9, 2024 <br />On June 25, 2024, the Board of Public Works received, opened and entered into the record public bids for Project No. 124-008 Leeper Ave Bridge Repairs Concrete Decking. Two bids were received. One bid from Milestone Contractors, L.P. for a base bid total of $486,328.10 and an <br />alternate bid total of $43,795.20; and one bid from LaPorte Construction Co.,inc. for a base bid of <br />$578,627.20 and an alternate bid total of $46,920.00. <br />After reviewing the bids, the Division of Engineering recommends that the Board of Public Works reject the bids received for the subject project since the bids received exceeded the available <br />budget for the project. <br />In addition, The Division of Engineering would like to re-advertise with a revised Bid Package. <br />For questions regarding the above recommendation or the subject project, contact Chana Roschyk <br />(Ext. 5922) at the Division of Engineering.
