The City of South Bend Safe Routes to School: Kennedy School Des No. 2201237 1
Dear Selection Committee:

A&Z Engineering, LLZ (A&Z) is thrilled to be part of the community improvements
that Safe Routes to School (SRTS) brings to neighborhoods.

You will find from our relevant experience section that A&Z has successfully com-
pleted several of these similar projects throughout Northern Indiana and we have
coordinated projects in which multiple stakeholders have a vested interest. A&Z ’s
staff along with their subconsultants come fully equipped to design and deliver a
quality project with efficiency. When you partner with A&Z,
you can always expect:

Time and Attention from a Trusted Project Manager
Landon Grogg, EI, is one of A&Z’s vice presidents and most versatile engineers and project managers. With 9 years experience under his belt, Landon has ded-
icated much of his time to projects like this one. He has a keen eye for identifying potential routes and the latest amenities that increase accessibility and
connectivity for all of a community’s residents. One of Landon’s prime responsibilities is facilitating the communication amongst stakeholders and contractors.
He will plan and host scoping and progress meetings in addition to email/phone updates. Additionally, he will assist in all e fforts for public involvement to keep
residents in the loop. City leaders have a lot on their plates; with Landon at the helm, they can expect to have fewer items on their to -do lists.

Experienced Team
Just like Landon, the key staff we have designated for this project are also experienced with SRTS projects. You will note in the staff resumes, that they are
all qualified for the identified worktypes and have the hands-on experience necessary to anticipate roadblocks and develop solutions to keep the project on time
and on budget. In total, the individuals working on this project have nearly 200 years of combined experience. On top of this, our key staff will have the support
of the entire A&Z firm– which boasts well over 300 years of combined experience.

Dedication to Service
A&Z is like all firms in that we aim to deliver a quality product in a timely manner. A&Z, however, takes a community -driven approach to their work. We work hard
to build relationships with our clients and become vested in the surrounding community– hence our 95% client retention rate. We know that proximity to clients
helps us provide better service in those areas, which is why A&Z has opened a satellite office in Valparaiso, IN. We look for ward to developing this Safe Routes to
School Project and becoming a trusted partner for your engineering solutions, from start to finish.
Jamal Anabtawi, P.E.
Principal In Charge|
Authorized Negotiator
jamal@az-engineering.net
Landon Grogg, EI
Project Manager
Vice President
lgrogg@az-engineering.net
City of South Bend Safe Routes to School:
Kennedy School
Des. # 2201237
Responsible Office
1220 Rouston Pass
Fort Wayne, IN 46825
260-750-7784
