atommfttuu Zsport: <br /> Parks and Recreation Committee <br /> go the Common QCOUitttl Of the Cftt of mouth Stub: <br /> The January 22, 1996, Parks and Recreation Committee was called to order by its <br /> Chairperson, Council Member, Council Member John Broden at 5:11 P.M. in the Council <br /> informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Luecke, Kelly, Varner, Zakrzewski, <br /> Coleman, Broden, Washington, and Heifer; Betsy Harriman, Don Porter, and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Broden noted that the first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 1-96 <br /> which would appropriate$150,000.00 from the Coveleski Improvement Fund. <br /> Betsy Harriman made the presentation. She noted that the Coveleski Improvement Fund <br /> was established for the purpose of funding capital improvements for the "Cove". The <br /> proposed appropriation would cover the cost of improving various items at the stadium <br /> including the purchase of a Reel mower, upgrading the air-conditioning/heating units; <br /> purchasing a new electronic sign; installing cup holders;replacing trash receptacles; doing <br /> various interior and exterior painting; and replacing various suite seats. <br /> She noted that there is currently a balance in the Coveleski Improvement Fund of <br /> $545,000.00. She also noted that the opening day game will be April 5, 1996 at 6:30 P.M. <br /> Following discussion, Council Member Luecke made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Coleman, that Bill No. 1-96 be recommended favorably to Council.
