Commftttt loaf: <br /> Personnel and Finance Committee <br /> to at Common Couitutl of at eitr of i5outb 3Bto: <br /> The June 10, 1996,meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order <br /> by its Chairperson Council Member Steve Luecke at 4:50 P.M. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Kelly, Pfeifer, Coleman, Varner, <br /> Washington, Broden, Zakrzewski, and Luecke; Cleo Hickey, Don Porter, and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that the main item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 39- <br /> 96 which would appropriate$31,664.00 from the Morris Civic Auditorium Improvement <br /> Fund for various improvements. Cleo Hickey made the presentation. She noted that the <br /> Auditorium has been busy with approximately 21, 000 students having attended various <br /> performances including Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat,Carnival of the <br /> Arts and Cats. It is anticipated that there will a total of 73 events through the year which <br /> should attract approximately 80, 000 people. She noted that the source of the revenue <br /> involved in tonights appropriation is the 50 cents added to each ticket which began in 1984. <br /> In response to a question raised by Council Member Varner, it was noted that before the <br /> appropriation there was approximately$180,000 in the fund.The appropriation would pay <br /> for needed repairs of the heating system,roof, stage repairs and the elevator. <br /> Following discussion Council Member Coleman made a motion, seconded by Council <br /> Member Pfeifer that Bill No. 39-96 be recommended favorably to Council.
