Commit/As 2sport: <br /> Zoning and Annexation Committee <br /> to tbs Common Count tI of tbs City of fond) Stub: <br /> The April 15, 1996 of the Zoning and Annexation Committee was called to order by its <br /> Chairperson, Council Member Tom Zakrzewski, at 3:45 P.M. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Luecke, Washington, Kelly, <br /> Zakrzewski, Coleman, Pfeifer, Varner, and Broden; Doug Carpenter, Citizen Member, <br /> John Byorni, Ann Kolata, Betsy Harriman, Charles Pryor, Brian May, Don Porter, Mr. <br /> Trotter,Steve Amelia,Joseph Mancini,Larry Lackner,and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> The first item on the agenda was to review Bill No. 61-94 which would establish as an <br /> historic landmark the property located at 3418 Mishawaka Ave. Council Member <br /> Zakrzewski noted tha t Mr.Oxion request uest that this Bill be continued indefinitely. <br /> The Committee then reviewed substitute Bill No.5-96 which is a zoning request for the <br /> property located at 1512 West Liston Street. <br /> Mr. John Byorni noted that the proposal received a favorable recommendation from both <br /> the Staff and the Area Plan Commission. <br /> Mr.Brian May the attorney for the petitioner made the presentation. <br /> In response to a question raised by Council Member Broden,it was noted that the property <br /> in question had been slated for demolition and has been saved. <br /> In response to a question raised by Council Member Luecke,it was noted that the structure <br /> is currently divided into two units with the petitioner planning to live in one and renting out <br /> the other. <br /> Following further discussion, Council Member Luecke made a motion, seconded by <br /> Council Member Broden that substitute Bill No. 5-96 be recommended favorably to <br /> Council.The motion passed. <br /> Council Member Pfeifer noted that she was a member of WWCRP Board and that the <br /> Board was in favor of the proposed rezoning and that the petitioner has been very <br /> cooperative. <br /> The Committee then reviewed substitute Bill No. 7-96 which is a zoning request for the <br /> property located at 115 South Eddy Street. <br /> Mr.John Byorni noted that it received a favorable recommendation from both the Staff and <br /> the Commission.Mr.Byomi further noted that in light of the number of variances required <br /> for"0"that the petitioner is seeking a"C-1"zoning use. <br /> • <br />
