Committee Report <br /> Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br /> To the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br /> The March 28, 1994 meeting of the Public Works and Property <br /> Vacation Committee was called to order by its Chairperson, <br /> Councilmember Steve Luecke, at 3 :20 p.m. in the Council <br /> Informal Meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included: Councilmembers Luecke, <br /> Washington, Kelly, Puzzello, Slavinskas, Coleman, Duda, and <br /> Ladewski; John Oxian, Jenny Pitts Manier, John Byorni, <br /> Michael Morris, Ann Kolata, Don Porter, and Kathleen <br /> Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Councilmember Luecke noted that there has been a request to <br /> continue Bill No. 23-94 until the meeting of April 11, 1994 . <br /> Councilmember Luecke noted that the next item to be reviewed <br /> by the Committee was Bill No. 17-94 which is a request to <br /> vacate an alley located in Martin's addition. <br /> Mr. Michael Morris made the presentation. He showed a site <br /> plan of the area in question the purpose of the location is <br /> to allow for parking spaces. <br /> Council President Puzzello noted that the proposed vacation <br /> received a favorable recommendation from the Board of Public <br /> Works. <br /> Following discussion, Councilmember Duda made a motion, <br /> seconded by Councilmember Ladewski, that Bill No. 17-94 be <br /> recommended favorably to Council . The motion passed. <br /> The Committee then reviewed Bill No. 22-94 which is a Bill <br /> to vacate Service Court No. 5. <br /> Jenny Pitts Manier made the presentation. She noted that <br /> the vacation is needed for the construction of the Football <br /> Hall of Fame structure. It was noted that there would be <br /> alternative access through St. Joseph for Osco's. <br /> Ann Kolata noted that a series of conversations are <br /> currently taking place with Osco's and Jefferson Centre <br /> regarding deliveries. <br /> Council President Puzzello noted that the proposed vacation <br /> received a favorable recommendation from the Board of Public <br /> Works. <br />
