Qlu tttttr& epnrt <br /> HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br /> Ulu the atomnwn Qlounrtl of tip CV of frPoutli limb: <br /> The April 8, 1991 Meeting of the Human Resources and <br /> Economic Development Committee was called to order by its <br /> Chairperson, Council Member Steve Luecke at 3:48 p.m. in the <br /> Council Informal Meeting Room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members Zakrzewski, <br /> Ladewski, Coleman, Duda, Soderberg, Puzzello, Luecke, <br /> Slavinskas, and Niezgodski; Mr. George W. Hoffman, President <br /> and CEO of AE Piston Products, Inc. , Mr. David Stopczynski, <br /> Hedy Robinson, Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that Resolution No. 91-26 which <br /> is a confirming Tax Abatement Resolution for the property <br /> located at 113 East Wayne Street, would be continued in <br /> light of technical difficulties, to the meeting of April 22, <br /> 1991. <br /> Council Member Luecke also noted that Resolution No. 91-28 <br /> which is a Declaratory Tax Abatement Resolution for the <br /> property commonly known as 4622 Burnett Drive South, for SM. <br /> OR. Cases, Inc. , will also be continued until the April 22, <br /> 1991 meeting. He stated that both of these Resolutions will <br /> be discussed with the Council Attorney before formal action <br /> will be taken. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that the next item to be <br /> reviewed was Resolution No. 91-27 which is a Declaratory <br /> Resolution for the property commonly known 22255 West <br /> Cleveland Road, a petition for Personal Property Tax <br /> Abatement for AE Piston Products, Inc. <br /> Hedy Robinson then reviewed the March 21, 1991 report from <br /> the Department of Economic Development (copy attached) . <br /> Mr. George W. Hoffman, the President and CEO, noted that the <br /> project would create 29 new permanent full-time jobs, with a <br /> new annual payroll of $888,000.00. He also noted that the <br /> tax abatement would enable the Company to maintain 177 <br /> existing full and part-time jobs, which have an annual <br /> payroll of $6, 000, 000.00. The total project cost is <br /> estimated at $5, 600,000. 00. He stated that there were two <br /> production lines 2 years ago, and that since then a third <br /> line has been added. An additional fourth line is now <br /> operable. Their major clients include Buick, Cadillac, and <br /> Ford. <br /> Council Member Luecke noted that he toured the plant <br /> approximately two years ago, and congratulated officers of <br /> AE Piston for their contributions to our community.
