SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> DECEMBER 17, 2012 <br /> The Board of Park Commissioners of the Park District of the City of South Bend, Indiana met on <br /> Monday December 17, 2012 at the O'Brien Administration&Recreation Center, 321 E. Walter St., <br /> South Bend, Indiana for its regular meeting. Notice of the date,time and place of the meeting were <br /> duly given as required by law. <br /> Park Board members present were as follows: <br /> Mr. Robert Goodrich,President <br /> Ms. Amy Hill,Vice President <br /> Mr. Garrett Mullins <br /> Mr. Bruce BonDurant <br /> Park Board members absent were as follows: <br /> Staff members present: Phil St. Clair, Superintendent; Bill Carleton,Fiscal Officer; Susan <br /> O'Connor,Recreation Director; Paul McMinn,Assistant Recreation Director;Randy Nowacki, <br /> Director of Golf Operations; Richard Payton,Development Director; Mike Dyszkiewicz, <br /> Maintenance Superintendent; Cheryl Greene,Park Board Attorney <br /> I. The meeting was called to order by Board President Robert Goodrich at 4:03 p.m. <br /> II. The first order of business was the interviewing of interested citizens <br /> There was no one wishing to speak. <br /> III. Report By Organizations <br /> 1. Potawatomi Zoological Society-Marcy Dean <br /> Ms. Dean reported that the Zoological Society's audit will take place in January. <br /> 2. Preparation for the butterfly exhibit for the coming year is underway. 19,091 went <br /> through the exhibit in 2012. She felt this was good given that it was closed for a few days <br /> in July due to heat. <br /> 3. The zoo train had 54,905 riders in 2012. <br /> 4. Marketing and planning is underway for opening in March. <br /> 5. The 2013 conservation calendar is printed and she distributed them to the Board. <br /> IV. The next order of business was unfinished business. <br /> Director St. Clair explained that there is no unfinished business,but that the public/private <br /> partnership agreement with the Zoological Society and the memorandum of understanding <br /> with the Botanical Society are still ongoing for 2013 <br /> V. The next order of business was new business. <br /> 1. Howard Park Building Energy Upgrades-Jonathon Burke <br /> Mr. Burke,Director of the City's Energy Department,reported on upgrades that have <br /> - - I - - <br />
