AM <br /> Qln rnnittu apart <br /> ZONING AND VACATION COMMITTEE <br /> Mu the ClinunnikinullfiLigf•Alieriittga.4,i1"141091116eting of the Zoning and Vacation <br /> Committee was called to order by its Chair Person Council <br /> Member Lee Slavinskas at 4:50 p.m. in the Council informal <br /> meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendance included Council Members: Duda, <br /> Niezgodski, Puzzello, Luecke, Voorde, Zakrzewski, Coleman, <br /> and Slavinskas; Isaah Jackson, Hedy Robinson, Bernard <br /> Feeney, Don Porter, and Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand. <br /> Council Member Slavinskas noted that the first item on the <br /> agenda was to review Substitute Bill No. 120-89 which would <br /> amend the zoning ordinance for property located near the <br /> interesection of Ewing Avenue and Prairie Avenue. <br /> Mr. Bernard Feeney represented the petitioner for the <br /> property in question. He provided a topography map. He <br /> noted that the petitioner is requesting a zoning change for <br /> parcel 1 to "B" Residential and for parcel 2 of commercial <br /> "A" Height and Area. The zoning would allow the development <br /> of a multi-family duplex condominium with 34 living units <br /> within it. He noted that a small strip center/office area <br /> is also being proposed along Prairie Avenue. Mr. Feeney <br /> stated that one party did appear at the Area Plan Commission <br /> but there was no official remonstrance. He reminded the <br /> committee members of the hearing held by this commitee when <br /> the vacation request was before it in the fall of last year. <br /> He stated that since that time, the petitioner has been in <br /> contact with the City Engineering Department as well as with <br /> the Rum Village Neighborhood Association. He stated that <br /> the engineering department has eliminated many of the cul- <br /> de-sac's and that all requests of the City Engineering <br /> Department would be incorporated. Council Member Slavinskas <br /> noted that the proposed rezoning request received a <br /> favorable recommendation from the Area Plan Commission. <br /> Council Member Zakrzewski stated that the developer did meet <br /> with Rum Village and that he was present at that meeting. <br /> He stated that several questions by the residents were <br /> satisfied. He noted that he has long been concerned with <br /> regard to the intersection of Prairie and Ewing and hoped <br /> that the City would continue to monitor the situation for <br /> ongoing safety concerns. He stated that he was particularly <br /> concerned with regard to being on Warren Street and making <br /> a left onto Ewing. It was noted that there would be an <br /> approximate sight line of 300 or more feet. <br /> Mr. Feeney also noted that he had met with the Home Owners <br /> Association and that the petitioner has committed to remove <br /> a mound of dirt which causes vision problems and has also <br />
