Olnitunitur Erpul t <br /> (?!D flit OlummDn mound' of Ifir (Mg of Onto ljnib: •HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br /> COMMITTEE <br /> The February 13, 1984 meeting of the Human Resources and Economic <br /> Development Committee was called to order by its Chairman, Councilman <br /> Eugenia Braboy at 6 : 05 p.m. in the Council Informal meeting room. <br /> Persons in attendances included: Councilmen'.Puzzello, Braboy, Beck, <br /> Crone, Voorde, Zakrzewski and Taylor, Sandy Combs, Jeff Gibney, Charles <br /> Leone, Carol Sheetz, LaMarr Wilson, Colleen Rosenfeld, Kathleen Cekanski- <br /> Farrand and members of the news media. <br /> Councilman Braboy began the meeting by introducing the two new <br /> citizen members Mr. Sandy Combs , and Mr. Jeff Gibney to the Committee. <br /> Councilman Braboy then called upon Colleen Rosenfeld to discuss <br /> Bill No. 13-84 which would transfer $723,265. 00 among various accounts <br /> within the division of Community Development. Mrs. Rosenfeld then passed out <br /> a summary sheet which described the activities affected by the appropriations <br /> (copy attached) . <br /> Councilman Beck then asked several questions regarding Max' s <br /> Grocery Store. The Committee was informed that outside work only was in the <br /> process of being done. That an investment tax credit where up to 25% could <br /> be credited was being used as an incentive tool to market the property. <br /> Mr. Gibney stated that he believed it was psychologically important to have thi <br /> building in the. neighborhood. Several questions were then asked by <br /> Councilmen Puzzello and Taylor. Councilman Crone noted that the City made <br /> committments to this project and that since contracts had already be entered <br /> into that the City should continue its committment to the project. <br /> Following further discussion and questioning by the Committee <br /> Councilman Beck made a motion seconded by Councilman Taylor that Bill No. <br /> 13-84 be recommended favorable to Council. The motion passed unanimously. <br /> Councilman Braboy noted that in light of the lateness of the hour <br /> and that a minimum of 30 minutes would be required to review the guidelines <br /> for Community Development money by Mrs. Rosenfeld and her staff , that a special <br /> meeting would be set up by her Committee. The Committee agreed to this <br /> recommendation. <br /> Councilman Beck made a motion seconded by Councilman Taylor that <br /> the meeting be adjourned.
