AUTHORIZED NEGOTIATOR/OFFICER
James Rice, PE
Partner
Director, Transportation Engineering
jrice@hwcengineering.com
(317) 981-1241 - Office
Coal Line Trail (Phase II) from Riverside Dr. to SR 933
(Des # 1401811) | LAPORTE DISTRICT
It’s Simple, We’re
Indiana’s Trail Experts
HWC has had the opportunity to manage over
20 different INDOT LPA trail specific projects in
the last five years. This doesn’t even include the
several dozen LPA roadway projects that had
multi-use trails as part of their overall project
construction. We consider trail inspection to be
a niche in the construction industry and HWC is a
market leader in this niche. As you’ll see on future
pages, HWC has inspected trails of all different
dynamics and looks forward to continuing our
proud trail inspection record with the City of
South Bend.
When selecting a firm for construction inspection, the South
Bend engineering team will need to consider several different
attributes of the firm you choose to help ensure you receive
the best finished product possible. Is the firm familiar with your
City standards and staff? Does the inspection firm have any
past relationships with the design firm? Does the firm have
a relationship with the potential contractors that will bid this
project? Do you have any history with the individual proposed
to lead this project and what results did that person produce?
HWC and Mr. Holth can answer yes to all of these questions.
In the last three years, he has helped manage the Western
Avenue Streetscape Phase III and Olive Street Reconstruction
Phase I projects. Why risk selecting a construction inspection
consultant that MAY deliver the expected results when you can
trust that HWC and Mr. Holth WILL deliver the expected results?
RESPONSIBLE OFFICE
135 N. Pennsylvania Street
Suite 2800
Indianapolis, Indiana 46204
As stated above, Mr. Holth has been a part of the
construction industry as both a contractor and construction
inspector. This gives him a unique perspective on multiple
aspects of the projects he oversees as well as a better
understanding of how to communicate and partner with
the contractor. This impressive level of communication
promotes smooth and timely resolutions to issues
that may occur during construction. He also has the
experience and skill set required to propose a variety
of constructibility and cost saving options to his clients.
WHY THE HWC TEAM?
CITY OF
SOUTH BEND
EXPERIENCED & SUCCESSFUL
PROJECT SUPERVISOR
Mr. Chris Holth has more than 29 years of experience managing construction projects in Indiana both as a consultant and as
a contractor. The projects he has overseen range in construction cost from $250,000 to $10 million. Most of these projects have
been with LPA clients like the City of South Bend. The quality of Mr. Holth’s performance on these projects has led to his clients
requesting he oversee future work with them further exemplifying the extent of his abilities. He has received performance scores
on multiple past projects from INDOT in the +2, “Exceeds Expectations” category. He is currently managing Olive Street Phase
I, his second project in South Bend awarded to HWC based on his performance on the Western Avenue project. Mr. Holth has
and will continue to meet and exceed the expectations set forth by the City of South Bend.
$250,000 TO $10 MILLION
Overseen Construction Costs
EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS
Performance Scores
29 YEARS
Of Experience
PARTNERSHIP &
UNDERSTANDING
OUR COMMITMENT
TO SOUTH BEND
CONTRACTOR + INSPECTOR
Unique Perspective On Projects
