As Commissioners may recall, the initial bids for the metal panel work came in higher than anticipated. This resulted in changes to the scope of work and issue of a second round of bids by the Board of Public Works. The contact was awarded to Shafner Haney at the end of July. Given the loss of time during the public bidding process, the installation dates have moved back significantly. The goal was completion by October 31" as it coincides with the completion of the rest of the construction work at Data Realty. Since this completion date cannot be met by Shafner Haney, project management services are needed to ensure that the metal panels are installed per all specified specs. The anticipated completion date of the Facade work is now December 15. Per the attached proposal, Turner Construction will monitor the installation of the metal panels from October 31, 2012 to November 14, 2012. Staff asks for Commission approval of the contract in the amount of $6,500 from the AEDA TIF.
