All members present. <br />City Engineer present. <br />Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer on <br />Corby Street from Eddy Street to East line of 34d. plat of Park Place under. Improvement <br />Resolution No. 919, in the City of South Bend, Indiana. ' <br />In the above matter a few property owners appeared. in regard to <br />amount of assessments and remonstrated against same, Writ6en remonstrance filed by <br />Wit. Bergan, saute read and placed on ..file and the Board over -ruled same.- The Board <br />being fully advised in the property assessed in said roll filed. Deeember,3Oth., 1921 <br />is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on.said rolla, and the Board further <br />'find that the assessment roll filed December 3Oth., 1.921 and the final estimate allowed <br />December 30th., 1921 should be and the same are hereby in all things, ratified, eon- <br />firmed and approved, and the City Controller requested to gith-hold the sum of $300.00 <br />from the Contractor Hoban & Roach until the street is leveled off and reported in <br />good condition by the City Engineer. <br />Remonstrance,filed and over -ruled. <br />STATE OF IDNAIAN <br />ST. Bergain, the owner of Lots 69819 and 11 in <br />Bergan'9 Replat of lots 2-3-4 in M. E. Listenbergers Addition to: the City of South <br />Bend; Indiana,•and remonstrates against the assessment of benefits in the sum -of <br />$610.62 for said Improvdment and for grounds of remonstrance says: <br />That the said assessment is ooessive. <br />That said lots or lands is not benefitted ,to the amount of <br />said assessment. <br />That said assessment is evrvneous. <br />This remonstrant therefor prays that a hearing be had on said <br />assessment roll, and that such belief be granted that may be seen just and right. <br />WADI. B s SLAUGHTER <br />President. <br />This being the date set for the informal hearing on the <br />e.dvisabilty of paving -south Michig%n Street from the end of the present pavement <br />to the City Limits. <br />In the above matter property owners appeared and discussed <br />this matter with the Board, W. Eckman stated they would be in favor of pavement this <br />,year if prices were lower than last year, it not they would oppose same. <br />Dr. J. Ellis, J. Tasher against improvement, stating that the <br />State should build this road, also if pavement would be put in, water mains should be <br />put in first. Parties owning property onw street present were: H. S. Cover, John Wala, <br />Arthur and Wm. Eckman; Landerson, Henry Heiermann, John Tastier,, Dr. J. Ellis, Paul <br />Fitch, J W. Fites, Eli Krou and Atty. A. E. Martin representing the Citizens Trust Co. <br />Trusttees for the E. L. Cothrell Realty Company of Indianapolis, Indiana. <br />After a lengthy discussion the property owners agreed to get a petition for a full <br />width pavement from end. of present city pavement to Donmoyer Avenue and a. 24 foot <br />pavement froir Donmoyer avenue'to Citr Limts, and ciFulate the same and present i-t= to <br />the Board at a later date.
