SovTxsF <br /> „G <br /> 1865 <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br /> PETE BUTTIGIEG, MAYOR <br /> OFFICE OF THE MAYOR <br /> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br /> January 27, 2012 <br /> Contact: Debra Johnson,Director of Communications <br /> Phone: 574-235-9261 <br /> MAYOR BUTTIGIEG TO HOST MAYOR'S NIGHT IN/OUT PROGRAM <br /> First"Mayor's Night Out"to be held in 2°d Council District <br /> South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg is hosting monthly Mayor's Night In and Mayor's <br /> Night Out for residents of South Bend, a program that will allow residents to speak <br /> directly to the mayor and department heads about municipal issues. <br /> The Mayor's first Night Out is Tuesday,January 3lst in the city's 2°d council district, <br /> which is represented by Councilman Henry Davis,Jr. The event is open to all residents at <br /> the Charles Martin Youth Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. <br /> "Mayor's Night Out is a great way to hear about the issues and address the concerns of <br /> South Bend residents. This is an opportunity to listen to citizens about their ideas and also <br /> tell them more about programs and services in the city. There is no better way than to go <br /> directly to the people," said Buttigieg. <br /> The program will alternate each month between Mayor's Night Out and Mayor's Night <br /> In. During Mayor's Night In,Buttigieg and department heads will be available inside the <br /> County-City Building to listen to residents and address their concerns and questions. <br /> Sign-up is on a first-come, fast-serve basis for five minute discussions with Buttigieg. <br /> The mayor also invited city department representatives from the Fire, Police,Parks & <br /> Recreation, Code Enforcement, Building Works, City Controller, City Attorney, Mayor's <br /> office, and the Common Council.
