� 8 (7) <br />• SpUTH g <br />Community & Economic Development =„ <br />1665 <br />1200 County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana 46601 -1830 Phone 574/235 -9371 Fax 574/235 -9021 <br />To: Redevelopment Commission <br />From: Bill Schalliol, ACED b�( <br />Subject: Declaratory Resolution 3006 - Amending the SBCDA Development Plan <br />Date: January 20, 2012 <br />Attached to this staff report is Declaratory Resolution 3006 which will amend the South Bend <br />Central Development Area Development Plan to add three (3) properties to the acquisition list <br />The three properties are located on the northwest corner of the Main Street and Western Avenue <br />and are part of the property acquisition with GMS Realty (Gates). To properly complete the Gates <br />property acquisition formerly approved by the Commission at its special meeting on the 18th of <br />January, it was determined that the properties needed to be on the acquisition list of the <br />Redevelopment Commission to allow the Commission to acquire the property rather than having the <br />parcels donated to the Board of Public Works. A map of the three parcels is attached to this staff <br />report. <br />Based on the schedule needed to amend the plan, the step of adding the properties to the <br />acquisition list should meet the proposed closing schedule of the project. The properties have <br />previously been appraised at $115,000 and that is the negotiated price the Commission will <br />ultimately pay for the properties as part of the previously approved administrative settlement. <br />Staff requests approval of Declaratory Resolution 3006 to amend the South Bend Central <br />Development Area Development Plan to add three properties to the acquisition list. Staff also <br />requests to schedule a public hearing for the confirming resolution at the Commission meeting <br />scheduled for March 13th or March 27th depending on the date of Council approval. <br />What We Do Today Makes A Difference! <br />
