0 <br />Tuesday March 28th., 1922. _p <br />v <br />Board met in regular session at 10:00 A..M. All members present. <br />F. J. Anderson City Eggineer and Mayor F. F. Seebirt present. <br />Mr. R. R. Smith Vice President and Gen'l. MAr. Chicago, South Bend <br />& Northerl Ry. Company with Mr. Southworth appeared before the Board and requested <br />permission to place a feeder line for power booster for South Michigan Street and <br />Miami Street lines on Miami Street from Lincoln Way East to Broadway and. on Broadway <br />from Miami Street -to Marietta Street, also to place pi�ht, poles .oxi-Broadway and Miami <br />Streets and use same jointly with- the Indiana Bel? "'e!.ep`icne Company poles now or. said <br />street and print submitted approved and the Board i.iastrocte- the Clerk to notify <br />the Indiana Bell Tel. Vomppany of the ppermission ranted the Chica o South Bend & <br />Northern Indiana Railway Company and that their es are to be Non jointly. <br />Pro e t own s esi in on Rt.:5:n'.S reFt-�frtm HaneyAvenue to <br />Indiana Avenue appeare e ore tie oar Ud reaueste that petition or pavement on <br />Rush Street be granted. City Engineer explained that the sewer was only in part <br />way on Rush Street. Board ordered resolutions prepared for sewer and pavement on <br />Rush Street from Indiana Avenue to Haney Avenue. <br />Councilman Sid Thornton apppeared before the Board in regard to <br />utition on file for rade, curb and Walk on Yorth Hill Street from Howard Street <br />Napoleon Street. *ritten remonstrance tiled a ainst said improvement. The Board <br />after due consideration decided to set said petition for an informal hearing as to <br />the a.dvisdbility of this improvement for April 12th., 1922 at 7:15 P.M. Clerk in- <br />structed to send noticestoproperty owners. <br />Property owners ,ap eared before the Board in re and to petition for <br />sewer on Lon ley Avenue from Colle e Street to Johnson Street. Re oluti.on ordered. <br />Written remonstrance against said �mprovemen.t received read and placed on file. <br />Councilman Hardman with Frank Strouch appeared before the Board <br />in regard to opening of an alley between lots 3-4-5 &6 MeasBs Addition Addition <br />from Porte Avenue to Lincoln Way West.. The Board instructed the Street. Commissioner <br />to to investigate this alley preparatory to placing new curbx returns and report as <br />to obstructions in alley. <br />Property owner b name of Kronewit,ter appeared before the Board <br />for rade curb -and walk on Ruskin Kreet from Emerson Avenue to Oakland Street. <br />Resolution ordered <br />D. C. Layton, Street Commissioner.appeared before the Board and <br />took up matter of the Northern Indiana Gas & Elec. Company using a bar to break into <br />new pavements ror gas leaks. Board requested Mr. G. M. Johnson to appeare before the <br />Board and requested him to have his workmen use a drill and not a bar on pavement. <br />Attorney Harry A. Wair appeared before the Board representing the <br />School City and requested that a resolution be adopted for the v&cation of alleys <br />between 10th.,.and llth. Street and Pleasant Street and Vine Street*'as School City <br />Tas about to let a contract for the erection of a school building .on this bbock. <br />Board ordered Vacation Resolution prepared. <br />Board passed Resolution authoriting the publication of the Building <br />Code in pamphlet form. <br />Be It Reso ved bK tri Bo rd of Publiq Works q this Cit th t <br />the Build -in Code be publishe in mphh et `orm as now in use vui h amesname its o <br />conform to 6rdinance o. 2243 of the Common Council and as ordered by the Common <br />Council of March 27th., 1922.' <br />Clerk instructed to notify Hibberd Printing Company to print and <br />bind I building codes. <br />Board instructed Clerk to send notice to the Weslbach Street <br />Lighting Comp€fiyof America of the Peolples Gas Lighting Building Chica o, Illinois <br />stating that -their contract for gas light for streets in River Park SOW Bend Indiana <br />will terminate 'April 30th., 11923��. <br />Street Lighting Company o sAmerica in reo reetoocontractbe sent to the Welsbach <br />Chec for the sum of $375.00 received from the H. A. Wood Realty <br />Company for street lights in Marquette Park from July 20th. 1920 to March lshs., 1922 <br />as per contract with.hoard of September 23rd., 1919 for 9-160 watt lights at75 <br />per month as per statement sent to said Company under date of 11arch 25th., 1922. <br />
