C_ U -) <br />SpUTH <br />04 \`1111'lo <br />Community & Economic Development <br />•�.s• <br />1200 County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana 46601 -1830 Phone 574/235 -9371 Fax 574/235 -9021 <br />To: Redevelopment Commission, Board of Public Works <br />From: Matthew Sikora, Economic Development Planner �� <br />Subject: Resolution 2912 and Addendum To Master Agency Agreement <br />LaSalle Square, Phase One — Roadway and Utility Design Project <br />Date: June 28, 2011 <br />Attached to this memorandum is Resolution 2912 and Addendum To Master Agency <br />Agreement for the LaSalle Square, Phase One — Roadway and Utility Design Project. <br />The proposed project consists of the design and development of bid documents for the <br />construction of Bonds Avenue ( ±470 feet) and a new city street ( ±340 feet) adjacent to the <br />St. Joseph County Public Library, as part of site improvements for the proposed senior <br />housing development (Heritage Place at LaSalle Square). <br />The scope of services includes a field survey of existing conditions and utilities, a phase <br />one environmental assessment on property to be acquired for the housing development <br />(former Fernando's Restaurant), asbestos investigation on the restaurant, demolition bid <br />documents for the restaurant, engineering design for sanitary sewer & water main <br />relocation and roadway & drainage design, soil erosion and sedimentation control permit, <br />construction bid documents and construction administration. Total cost of these services is <br />$62,400. <br />Staff is currently in negotiations for the properties affected by the proposal. Work would not <br />go forward until those properties are acquired, but in the interest of getting the proposed <br />development completed in a timely manner and to best coordinate site improvements with <br />construction of the housing development, staff has asked for advanced approval of the <br />proposal. <br />Staff requests approval of Resolution 2912 and the Addendum To Master Agency <br />Aareement for the LaSalle Square, Phase One — Roadway and Utility Design Project. <br />What We Do Today Makes A Difference! <br />
