Staff Report <br />Amendment to Master Agency Agreement to add Schafer Gear Works Project <br />Prepared 5/19/11 <br />Staff is requesting $60,000 for conduit to bring Metronet services to Schafer Gear Works. <br />Currently the conduit ends at Moreau Court. This project would extend the conduit down <br />Nimtz Parkway to Schafer Gear. <br />You may recall Schafer Gear (or related entities) recently received approval for tax <br />abatement on a project approaching $18 million of new investment (see attached Tax <br />Abatement Reports). In fact, the new building (next to their existing facility) is well <br />under way to being completed. <br />This is a significant new investment for South Bend, along with 26 new jobs in the next <br />two years, and we are pleased to support it by recommending approval of this request. <br />
