Luecke, Mayor <br /> RELEASE FROM: FOR RELEASE: <br /> OFFICE OF MAYOR LUECKE MONDAY, JANUARY 10, 2005 <br /> City of South Bend Announces New Staff Members in <br /> Community & Economic Development <br /> The City of South Bend announced three new staff members in the Department of Community and Economic <br /> Development. Liz Maradik and David Fecteau have joined a team of Planners who work closely with many <br /> neighborhood and business associations and Kathy Hahn has been hired as a Credit Analysis and Loan <br /> Servicing Officer. <br /> "David, Liz and Kathy will be part of our continued efforts to make South Bend a city of choice for our residents, <br /> businesses and visitors," stated Sharon Kendall, Director of Community & Economic Development. "The <br /> Community and Economic Development teams work together in the planning and implantation of opportunities, <br /> programs and projects that give all of us a place where we can live, work and play - our 21 Century City." <br /> As part of the Planning team, Maradek and Fecteau will work to implement Mayor Luecke's Commercial <br /> Corridor and Neighborhood Partnership Center Programs. In addition to preparing plans for community <br /> development and serving as a resource for City information, their activities will focus on helping to design, <br /> implement and manage various physical improvement projects to enhance our business and residential areas. <br /> They will concentrate on helping neighborhood and business associations become better organized and will be <br /> involved in neighborhood safety, housing improvement, land use,zoning and urban design matters. <br /> Liz Maradik will primarily work with the Portage Avenue Commercial Corridor and the Near Westside <br /> Neighborhood Partnership Center. She will also work with the Keller Park and Monroe Park Neighborhoods,the <br /> northeast neighborhood, the Model Block initiative and City Plan. Liz obtained a Masters of Urban and Regional <br /> Planning and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Design from the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New <br /> York. <br /> David Fecteau will primarily work with the Western Avenue Commercial Corridor, the LaSalle Area <br /> Neighborhood Partnership Center and the LaSalle Park Neighborhood. He will also work with the East Bank <br /> neighborhood and assist with Weed and Seed program implementation and City Plan. David obtained a <br /> Masters of City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass <br /> Communication from the University of Maine. <br /> Kathy Hahn serves as the Department of Community and Economic Development's Credit Analysis and Loan <br /> Servicing Officer. Kathy will perform credit analysis in relation to commercial loans and conduct research <br /> related to community and economic development issues. She has served in commercial lending for four years <br /> at two different banks, Michigan National and Old Kent Financial.
