aRGULAR--nETING, <br />Regular Aeoting,of the Board of -public_Safetywas hold Monday May 20,,1935 <br />A 8,30.A.M.411 members were present. <br />The minutes of meeting oil May 13 were read and approved.- <br />equisitions bearing numbers 08477 to08484 inclusive were approved* <br />Claims in the amount of 81.83 from the following suppliers were approved <br />dibbord Printing,Uo .11,75 flibbord Printing Co 11.75 <br />Charles A,Crookor 7.00 Coatral Electric Uo 5.43 <br />Taylors Service Stores 19.00 Kaylor liolman Opring co 3*34 <br />lick's Laundering UO 70 Northern Ind Public Serv2.86 <br />South Bond I-ray Lab 20,00 <br />Dept Chief Fresh present. <br />The chief was authorized: to purchase a American Flag 5x9 for display on <br />he central fire station. <br />I Gas consumption at the various fire stations was discussed.rhe gas <br />ompany reported that they tested the motors at the various stations and <br />my two were found to be only two and three percent fast,112o Secretary <br />as instructed to ascertain if the Gas company could tell the time of day <br />he Gas was being used and if in the meantime there could be a leakage* <br />Mr C,L,Zigler of the first Bank & Trust uo representing the ' down town banks <br />n the city asking that 15 minute parking be restablished in front of the <br />anks.Formission was granted and the Sooratary was instructed to carry out <br />he plans, <br />Dog Pound Mr Wood Present. <br />tters.,pertaining to his Department were discussed. <br />.$loctrical Dept W Shannon present <br />Mr Shannon was asked regarding the functions of his departmeRt.lie explained <br />the various duties and he was requested to concentrate on inspection and <br />remedy of defective wiring in the down town retail stures where large crowds <br />congregate.-Mr Shannon reported that the appropriation for gasoline had been <br />exhausted and it was decided to request the Police Dept to supply gasoline <br />until an additionial appropriation could be set up for the city Electrician <br />: The Fire Chief was asked to supply a man from his department to assist in <br />completing the traffic survey..He agreed to supply such a man upon demand* <br />Police Dept Chief Lane present. <br />A conference was had regarding the traffic situation on fio'Soott St at <br />which the following were present besides the chiefand the Board. <br />Mr Reaser.of the Ind Lbr Mfg Co <br />Mr ritterlingof the fitterling *.rrucking co <br />Mr Smeathen of the central ITuoki#g co <br />MrMoomaw building commissioner <br />A full discussion of the situation and mr Moomaw went into the history of <br />the situation from 1923 to,the present time,Mr Moomaw suggested that his <br />solution of the problem would be to declare a vacaneywhioh would the <br />occupants a hearing before the zoning commission.Mr Hunter then suggested <br />that they would save themselves considerable trouble if they would vacate' <br />before such a prooeding was followed.Mr Sneathen then said he had <br />investigated several other locations in case he was forced to move and he <br />could be released from the leasemr Hunter then requested Mr Reaser to <br />ascertain from hi-s company if such release would be granted.Also requested <br />Mr 14bomaw to ascertain if prospective ndw locations would permit them <br />to operate under the zoning ordiance and to report,at the next regular <br />meeting,The delegation was then.eitaused, . <br />mr Lane was asked to supply a man from his department-to assist in <br />completeing the traffic survey now inprogress.He agreed to supplyv such <br />a man on demand. <br />The chief was instructed to arrange for 15 minute parking in front of the <br />down town banks <br />Electric Dept mr Qualls present. <br />Mr qualls that he had made arrangements for a substitute to take the place <br />of Mr Book in the alarm station while the latter was attending a. meeting <br />of rolice Aadio operators in Mr Al G, Feeneys office in Indianapolis on <br />Monday May 20,mr Books expenses to be paid by the city* <br />
