REGULAR MEETING <br />The regular meeting of`the'Board of Public Safety was held at 2 :00 P. m. <br />Saturday June 9, 1934. All members present. <br />On motion by TV-1r. Trost, seconded by ?iLr. Gadacz the minutes were approved <br />as read. <br />Bills bearing the following requisition numbers were approved: <br />07316 07350 07390 07392 07393 07373 07395 07313 07397 02737 02736 02754 <br />02745 07400 07407 07403.07402 07398 <br />also the following claims:: <br />I & 14 Electric Co. 441,36, Postal Tel. Co: x.30, Western Union Tel Co. <br />bills from_ Dec. to Ilay inclusive :12.75, a total of all claims of X21 1. 66. <br />FIRE DEPARTT,TENT: <br />Fire Chief , Roy A. KnJ2 -ock present and the activities of his department <br />discussed. <br />Chief Knoblock reported that Firemen Oduseh and Anderson are completirg <br />their six month probation period and are acceptable to him as regulars <br />and on motion by 1r. Gadacz, seconded by 14r. Trost it was decided to <br />accept them as first -class firemen. - <br />ELECTRICAL DEPART ENT: <br />Superintendent, Wm. F. Qualls, present and the activities of .his dext- <br />m.ent discussed. <br />POLICE DEPART1,1ENT: <br />Acting Chief, Horace M, Hamilton, -resent and the activities of his <br />department discussed. <br />It was decided to have "Slow" signs painted on Fellows St. at the inter <br />section of Monroe St. <br />A petition was read in Which a request for erecting STOP signs on <br />Calvert St. at Leer St. was made. On motion by 11r. Gadacz, seconded Ty <br />Mr. Trost, the Clerk was instructed to iu ve suchsigns put up. <br />On motion by Iir. frost, seconded by Mr. Gadacz it was decided that the <br />posi #ion on the department from which. Off icer Don Richardson-resigned <br />be vacated until such a time as the funds created by this vacancy are <br />sufficient to meet the increased cost of gasoline used by the delm rtment <br />and the Clerk was instructed to Ir epare an ordinance transferring <br />such funds. <br />The applications of Anthony H. <br />and ordered placed 'ori"'file; <br />" A communication from the South <br />illustrating a certain traffic <br />` some of a similar type be exec <br />seconded by I1r.
