SPECIALITUIETING <br />A special meeting ofthe Board of Public Safety was held in the offices <br />of the Board at 1:00 P. M. Thursday, May 31, 1934, pursuant,to written <br />call. All members present. <br />President V. J. Gadacz stated the purpose of the meeting was the <br />adoption of a certain resolution hereinafter quoted and also any other <br />business that may come before said meeting. <br />A resignation from Officer Don Richardson effective May 29, 1934 was <br />read and accepted on motion by Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. Gadacz and <br />unanimously carried. <br />A communcation from the Controller, regarding police payroll payable <br />Tune lst was read. <br />The Board adopted the following resolution on motion by Kr. Trost, <br />seconded by Mr, Gadacz: <br />"Communication from Controller McErlain read advising that-he will not <br />honor police payroll certified by-this Board on the 26th day of May, <br />19joecause of absence of signature and verification by one Michael <br />Hanley claimed by the Mayor and said Controller to be Chief of Police <br />and which claim this Board rejects, Resolved, that the Board employ <br />counsel to immediately,inuagurate and prosecute with all possible <br />expedition a proceAing ix i Nol this Board and on behalf <br />N . 44- <br />A'Ssf <br />of Acting Chief MY t n a t0eI1NPiv'4'1auIIal0sfGadacz and Trost to have <br />definitely determined ina court of record as-to the necessity or <br />rte of acceeding.t.o the controller's request for signatures and <br />tiQn*by.said Mi6hae-l-Hanley to said pay roll and for a deter- <br />the. status :of se al Hanley and Berner." <br />­mess the meeting adjourned. <br />A <br />Attest: <br />I <br />
