REGULAR MEETING <br />The regular meeting of ' the Board of Public Safety was heldon Saturday <br />afternoon, April 21, 1934 at 2 :00 P. T1. All members present. <br />Bills totalling ', � and bearin g�tlB following requisition numbers <br />were approved: <br />07267 07227 07255 07263 07219 07266 07269 07226 07212 07189 07256 07254 <br />02705 02642 02679 02714 02716 02718 02715 02717 07286 07276 07276 07282 <br />FIRE DEPARTMENT: <br />Fire Chief, Roy A. Knoblock, present. <br />On motion by Mr. Trost, seconded by 111r. Gadaez, Alex Andrzejewski, <br />43a)S. Fhillipa St. was appointed to the fire department effective <br />May 1, 1934. <br />Chief Knoblock reported that the department is in.need of fire hose. <br />The Clerk was instructed to consult the City Attorney regarding an <br />emergency appropriation ordinance being drawn up to cover the cost3.of <br />such hose. <br />The application of Stanley P,?aroxz was approved and ordered placed on <br />file. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />Superintendent, Wm. F. Qualls, present and the activities.of his <br />department discussed. <br />A communication from the Fire and Police Alarm Operators union was <br />read. Their request for an increase in salary was denied on motion_ <br />by Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. McSorley and unanimously carried due <br />to the fact that this. Board 'does not have the authority to make any <br />increases in salaries. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Acting Chief, H. Hamilton, present and the activities of his <br />department discussed. <br />A communication from the Highway Lighthouse Co. requesting permission <br />to put up electric flasher signs at no cost to the city at the <br />following locations was read: <br />l Lighthouse on Lincoln Way West at the intersection of Bendix Blvd. <br />2 Lighthouses.on McKinley Road at a reverse curve east of the Country <br />Club <br />1 Lighthouse on Leeper Ave. (Niles Road) at the intersection of <br />Howard Street. <br />On motion by Mr. Gadac7 seconded by Mr. Trost and unanimously carried <br />the Clerk was instructed .to'.grant them permission to put such signs up. <br />WEIGHTS .& MEASURES: <br />City Sealer, Charles 1.
