QQ -REGULAR MEETING <br />The-regular WINkly meeting of'the"Board of Public Safety was held at <br />2'. <br />00 P - & T. S& Aiarday,'March'24,1934. President Valentine T. Gaddcz <br />. <br />not present due'to illness-9 'Vice-President Walter T. McSorley presided <br />with Member William H. Trost, Tr. in attendance. <br />The Board approved the following bills bearing requisitions: <br />026-70 02669 02675 02688 02676 02682 02680 02660 07140 06931 06933 06994 <br />07087 07176 07163 07151 07149 07142 07161 <br />and the claimsof Dr. E. E. Tohnston` for $10.00 and $29.00, a total of <br />all bills of $211.46. <br />On motion by Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. McSorley it was ordered that the <br />Clerk,tin the event of an injury to any employee of the Department of <br />Public Safety, assure himself that medical aid is necessary* <br />FIRE DEPARTTIZNT: <br />CHief, Roy A. Knoblock, was present and reported the activities of his <br />department. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT: <br />Acting Chief, Horace M. Hamilton, was presenteand the activities of his <br />department were discussed. <br />A'communication from Police Surgeon, Dr. E. E. lohnston, was read as <br />follows: "T have examined Police Officer Frank Starck. and I find him* <br />mentally unfit for duty". On motion by Mr. McSorley, seconded by Mr, <br />Trost it was ordered that officer Starck be carried on the payroll <br />for the customary sixty days and then turned over to the pension board. <br />A communication from Sergeant Bert Olmstead was read in which a leave <br />of absence from March 24 to May 10, 1934 was requested. Motion by <br />Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. McSorley that such leave be and-is granted. <br />Moved by Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. McSorley that Patrolman Ed. Morris <br />be promoted to sergeant effective March 24 <br />1934. <br />Moved by Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. McSorley that Patrolman Toe <br />Wroblewski be ordered to report to the Police Surgeon for a physical <br />examination. <br />Moved by Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. McSorley that gum vending machine <br />picked up recently in a raid be returned to owner. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: <br />Superintendent, Wm. F. Qualls, was present and the activities of his <br />department were discussed. <br />WEIGHTS & MEASURES: <br />The report of City sealer, Charles T. <br />ordered placed on file. <br />ATTEST: <br />. was read, approved and <br />
