A..Budd at 9 :15 A.M. <br />Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved. <br />Bills <br />in the amount of $927.19 <br />were <br />approved, <br />bearing requisi- <br />tion <br />numbers as <br />follows: <br />05924 <br />05229 <br />05930 <br />05915 <br />05921 <br />05910 <br />05914 <br />05932 <br />05917 <br />05927. <br />05895 <br />05866 <br />05879 <br />05913 <br />05909 <br />05858 <br />05867 <br />05900 <br />05916 <br />05926 <br />05290 <br />05877 <br />05906 <br />05919 <br />- 05883 <br />05898 <br />05473 <br />05918 <br />05920 <br />05923 <br />05471 <br />05941 <br />05440 <br />05922. <br />POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Special police commissions were granted to Emery W. Coverdale, <br />Harry E. million and Bert Froste. <br />The Board approved special police bond of Bert Froste with <br />the Employers Liability Assurance Company, Ltd. <br />The Board ordered bus loading zone on the West side of St. Jos., <br />St., from Jefferson Blvd., South to the first driveway. <br />Michael Barany, Clerk, presented the following letter from <br />the South Bend News- Times: <br />Mr. John K spert, <br />Chief of Police, <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />Dear Chief: <br />Would you have any objection to the News -Times <br />offering a medal that carries with it a year's <br />subscription to the paper to the man on your <br />force that you selected as having done the most <br />outstanding piece of police work? <br />It is our idea to have you make this selection <br />each three months. The medal would designate <br />the man as a member of the St. Joseph Valley <br />Fellers Club. <br />Let me know if you approve and we will give it <br />a story or two and will ask you Mares 1 for the <br />first selection. <br />Cordially yours, <br />Fred Millis, <br />President." <br />After discussing the above letter with Chief of Police, John <br />B. Kuespert, the Board unanimously agreed to co- operate with <br />the News -Times and instrw ted the Clerk to inform Mr. Millis <br />that they are willing to co- operate with him in this matter. <br />Applicationsof John Swiatowy and Stanley J.
