Engeldrum. <br />All members were present <br />)!Motion prevailed to dispense with the reading of the . minutes of the <br />last regular meetingo <br />FIRE DEPT. <br />Bills # 3 Tq tof 3 V were approved and ordered paid. <br />Motion prevailed to accept and order placed on file,4tViq,applicatiOA <br />of Glen J. Rush.and Frank Eugene Allen. <br />ELECTRICAL DEPT. <br />Motion prevailed that the weekly report Of Rapt. Qualls for -the week <br />ending April 30th., 1927 be accepted and placed on file. <br />Motion orevailed that due to the damp condition of the concrete floors <br />at the Alarm.Station Supt. Qualls, be ordered to procure rubber matting <br />for the floors. <br />DEPT. OF WEIGHTS & LIEASURES <br />motion prevaiied that the weekly report of City Sealer Burns for the <br />week ending April 30th., 1.127 be accepted and- ordered placed on file. <br />POLICE DEPT. <br />Bills to# /3/9 were approved pproved and ordered pAidti %'1'11 <br />Lilotion prevailed to accept and order placed on file the appli <br />cation of Elmer V. Alward.• <br />. <br />Motion prevailed that the O-"ficiai Bond of officer Adolph Graf, nameing <br />Adolph Graf as principal, and Adolph Graf, Olen A. Clark, and John <br />Peulchen as surety,be accepted and ordered placed on file. <br />Motion prevailed that the following order be issued to the•idembers of <br />the Police and Fird Dept. <br />Any solicitAtion of a public nature by any members of the <br />Police or Fire Dept. must be first sanctioned by the Board of Public <br />Safety and the Chief of Police or the Chief of the Fire Dept. <br />Any aotivitys out * side of police work which deal with the <br />public, and are under the auspices Of members of the Police Dept useing <br />the name of Police must -be sanctioned by the Board of Public Safety. <br />Chief Hatt reported that Police Car # 8, driven by officer Dodge was struck <br />by a N.Y.Central train.at the S. Michigan St. crossing on the night of <br />April 30th. and the car was practicaiy demolished,� <br />Chief Hatt further reported that upon investigation he learned the the <br />accident was due to the crossing watchman failure to lower the crossing <br />gates when the.train approached the crossing, and that watchmean gave no 1. <br />signal of any kind and allowed Oficer Dodge who happened to be answering* <br />a minute call to drive into the path of the approaching-',tprain. <br />Motion prevailed that Officer Dodge be exonerated for all blame for tho <br />-U <br />acci ent. <br />Chief Hatt also reported that the matter of damages had been taken up <br />with the N.Y.
