Seary <br />Motion prevailed to adjourn. <br />T <br />.Attest <br />President of the Board. <br />February 22, 1926. <br />Meeting held in the Board of aafety office M nday afternoon at <br />4 p.m. All members present <br />Motion prevailed that requisitions be signed and bills for the <br />police fire department be allowed. <br />.Rgpo-rt�s of Fire Chief were accepted a s d ao c 4, e placed on filed. <br />Motion prevailed that Chief of. Police James J. Hatt be <br />permitted to use gas from the Police barn when using his "`car for <br />supervision "work. Gar to be used only for supervision work when <br />police cars are in service. <br />` Motion .prevailed to place the report of the Wei #hts and <br />Measures Department on file. Motion was made by Mr.Reeder and <br />seconded by Mr.wicely ratifying the following changes in the <br />Police Department; Patrolman Winthers exchanged places with <br />Detective Diver. Patrolman Pallo exchange place with DETECTIVF. <br />Wolters. Detective Smith change place with Driver Va,nDusen.. <br />Motorcycle Patrolman Ellis change with Patrolman Rex Risher, <br />Patrolman Ambs change with Patrolman Nulf. Patrolman Poczesny <br />to change with Patrolman Wielopolski and Patrolman Wielopolski <br />to take post now tr by Patrolman Laskowski a nd patrolman <br />J. Laskowski will patrol beat formerly patroled by Patrolman <br />Poczesny. Sergt. McMahon will change pl with Sergt. In order that we may have <br />a wider selection,thk Board of 'Safety desirEs more men of the right I <br />type to make application for membership on the policy department. <br />'We wart vigorous men, cle in their habits; men whose minds con - <br />stantly will be occupied with thoughts.of service at all times to <br />the public, men who can think and act gTaickl in all _matters large <br />or small which have to do with general policy duties. The work of <br />a police officer should make an appeal to a larger number of men <br />and..to a higher caliber of men than often _make application for <br />pollee positions. There is no calling that can render more sub - <br />stantial service to a community. We mane this appeal knowing there <br />are many reliable and strong men in South Bend who can develop <br />into high grade officers, and who will like_ the work when they Q <br />get into it.
